Many thanks for all your support throughout the Summer Festival season.

As ever there have been too many highlights to mention them all but Steve was delighted to be asked to become the patron of Shrewsbury Festival, and
Abbotsbury was widely regarded as one of our most enjoyable to date.

 

The Autumn kicks off with Steve and Phil undertaking a Backlog tour featuring songs from the first 10 years of their partnership. With this in mind they
asked Longdogs to vote for a ‘Top 20’ of songs from this period (excluding those songs which have already seen numerous outings on different recordings).
This selection of songs will be newly recorded and will form the basis of a double CD ‘Backlog 2’, which will be exclusively available on the road and
through the Show of Hands website.

 

Later in the Autumn Steve & Phil will be joined by Miranda for a tour of larger concert venues and we are delighted that renowned singer-songwriter Richard Shindell will be our special guest. Many of you will have already heard Richard’s ‘You Stay Here’ on the Covers 2 album, and this is just the tip of the iceberg of extraordinary songs he has written.

 

Looking at next year, Steve will be touring in late January with the Cecil Sharp project, and then in February with Phil Henry & Hannah Martin. Mr Beer will also be out and about with his band and a variety of special guests.

 

Then of course, there is the Big Gig at Kensington Village Hall to mark 20 years on the road. There will be a T-shirt available later this year to celebrate the event.

 

Finally, in response to many inquiries, Show of Hands will be releasing a new studio album in the Autumn of 2012.
