SOH feature on ‘Mojo’ George Harrison tribute CD

October 3rd 2011

Show of Hands acclaimed take on George Harrison’s If I Needed Someone is the lead track on an exclusive new CD tribute to “the quiet Beatle”.

As the 10th anniversary of Harrison’s death approaches next month, MOJO magazine is celebrating the life and music of the man who contributed so much to “The Fab Four” and British pop music – with its November special commemorative issue offering a free covermount CD, Harrison Covered.

Other artists contributing covers of Harrison songs include Richie Havens, Ron Sexsmith, The Felice Brothers, Yim Yames, Emmy The Great, The Webb Sisters and Jonathan Wilson featuring Graham Nash.

The SOH version appeared on the 2006 studio album, Witness, produced by Grammy-nominated producer Simon Emmerson and Simon Massey of Afro Celts fame – an album that marked a new departure for the band and which also included the stand-out track Roots, nominated for Best Original Song at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
